The short version: the story, duels and the open valley play fully offline. Signing in is optional and only backs up your progress. The game shows optional rewarded ads (and may show occasional full-screen ads) through Google AdMob, which uses your device’s advertising ID; in the EU, UK and Switzerland you choose whether ads are personalised. You can delete your account and cloud save from inside the game at any time.
Information we collect
If you sign in with Google: your Google account’s user ID, display name, email address and profile photo link, so your progress can be restored on another phone. If you play as a guest, an anonymous account ID is created instead.
Cloud save (signed-in players): your game progress — missions and duels unlocked, stars, in-game currency, upgrades, cosmetics and best scores — stored with Google Firebase.
Advertising: Google AdMob collects the advertising ID, device and app information, approximate location from the IP address, and ad interactions in order to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud.
App analytics: Google Firebase Analytics may collect app usage events and device information (an app instance ID, not your name) to help us understand how the game is played.
Purchases: in-app purchases (such as Remove Ads) are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of what you bought; we never see your payment details.
Data stored on your device
Settings and game progress are also saved on your phone. That copy never leaves the device unless you sign in, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
How we use it
To back up and restore your progress, to keep your Remove Ads purchase, to show and measure ads, and to improve the game. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
Ad consent: in the EU, UK and Switzerland a consent form asks how your data may be used for ads before any ad is requested; you can change the choice under Settings → AD PRIVACY.
Advertising ID: you can reset it or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
No ads: the Remove Ads purchase stops full-screen ads. Rewarded ads are always optional.
Delete your account: Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT erases your account and its cloud save immediately. You can also email us (below) and we will delete it within 30 days.
Permissions
Emberline uses the internet for sign-in, cloud save and ads, and the advertising ID permission for ads. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
Third parties
We use these Google services, each under its own privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy, Firebase (sign-in, cloud save, analytics), Google AdMob (ads) and Google Play (purchases).
Children
Emberline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.
Security and retention
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Cloud saves are kept until you delete your account; ad and analytics data is kept by Google as their policies describe.
Changes
If the app changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated first and the effective date above will change.
