What We Collect & Store
To provide our services, HabitCoach AI processes data that you voluntarily input. The types of data depend on how you interact with the app:
💾 Local-First Data
Your habit goals, motivation statements, streaks, routine logs, Pomodoro focus session durations, and journal entries. This data is stored locally on your device.
☁️ Cloud Account Data
If you register/log in via Firebase Authentication, we collect your email address, password, and authentication tokens. This enables data synchronization across your devices.
💡 All local data is stored securely on your device using Hive. It remains private and is only transmitted to secure cloud services if you opt-in for remote sync or account login.
AI Coaching Data
HabitCoach AI features an intelligent AI Coach to help you structure habits and routines. When you chat with the coach or request a roadmap:
- Your goals, motivators, and chat messages are sent to an AI provider (e.g., Google Gemini API) to generate personalized responses.
- No Personally Identifiable Information (PII), such as your email or account identifier, is ever sent to or shared with the AI models.
- Information is transmitted securely via HTTPS encrypted channels.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party cloud services to optimize performance and synchronization:
- Firebase Authentication & Firestore: To securely authenticate your user identity and store/synchronize your habit data across devices.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: To collect anonymized app performance and usage metrics (e.g., page views, crash records). This data does not contain PII and is used solely to resolve bugs and improve application reliability.
Data Security
We implement standard, industry-accepted security practices to protect all data stored locally on your device and in transit to our backend systems. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with the services of HabitCoach AI and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining the performance of the app, making data-driven business decisions about new features and offerings, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes.
- Local Data: Data stored locally on your device remains there as long as the application is installed. If you uninstall the app or clear the app's data, this local data is removed.
- Cloud Account Data: If you create an account, we retain your data as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, your data is promptly and permanently deleted from our cloud servers.
- Crash & Analytics Data: Anonymous usage and crash data is retained for a limited time before it is automatically deleted according to Firebase's default retention policies.
Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have full ownership of your data. You have the right to access, modify, or permanently delete your information at any time:
To delete all your information permanently:
Open HabitCoach AI → Navigate to Settings → Under **Data & Privacy**, tap Delete Account. This action is irreversible and immediately wipes your account and all associated remote and local data.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our servers.
Changes to this Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
